Pre-service biology teacher’s perception on local environment problems as contextual learning resources

A survey and exploratory study were conducted to analyze Lake Tempe as a resource for contextual learning (CTL). The first phase of the included exploring lake’s potential through interviews with people who live in coastal region. Quadrat transects done identify aquatic plants around lake. feasibility analysis was see resource. Field data collected compared environmental biology (EB) curriculum, responses, outcome. analyzed descriptively tested using paired-sample t-test. results showed differences three stations’ physicochemical parameters decreased quality water. It found that anthropogenic activity had significant contribution pollution. Nine species six plant families revealed lake feasible criteria easy access, safety, time efficiency, costs, material's suitability EB courses. t-test difference students’ scores between before after exploration practices. These findings suggest Tempe<em> </em>can serve CTL
